Description Prattware Pot Lid featuring The Shrimpers. Measures approximately 11cm diameter x 1.5cm high. No damage. These high quality earthen ware pot lids were used as covers for various products. Produced by F&R Pratt & Co from the 1840’s in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. The brothers Felix & Richard, developed a technique using multi coloured transfer printing to create vibrant, detailed designs, often by artist Jesse Austin, which depicted Victorian life and other scenes. They have become collectable items, valued for their artistic merit, historical representation of the era and technical excellence from the 1900’s on.
